Chun Yang International: Hong Kong’s First Intelligent Lithium Battery Processing Facility Leading the Green Tech Revolution

Feb 26

2025

Chun Yang International (HK) Co., Ltd. is actively constructing Hong Kong’s first high-tech EV battery processing plant. The project is on track to enter trial operations by the end of this year, with full production expected early next year, bringing new energy to Hong Kong’s environmental sector.

Recently, Legislative Council member Mr. Chau Ho-ding and several Tuen Mun district councillors visited the construction site at Tuen Mun EcoPark. Mr. Chau (third from the left), along with several councillors, witnessed the project’s progress alongside Mr. Kwok Chun Sing, Chairman of Envision Greeenwise Group (third from the right), and Ms. Kwok Ho Yee, Managing Director of Chun Yang International (second from the right).

In 2024, Chun Yang International successfully secured the lease rights for EcoPark T2 and T3, aiming to establish Hong Kong’s first high-tech EV battery processing base. This facility is not just an ordinary recycling plant; it integrates advanced technology and intelligence to create a comprehensive power battery processing center. Equipped with state-of-the-art automated production lines, it can accurately classify and process various types of EV batteries. Batteries that still have usable performance will be repurposed for energy storage applications, significantly extending their lifecycle. Meanwhile, decommissioned batteries will be processed through efficient refining techniques, transforming them into “black mass” and raw materials like copper, aluminum, and iron for reuse in battery manufacturing, thus achieving resource recycling.

As Hong Kong’s first EV battery processing plant, Chun Yang International can handle all types of electric vehicle lithium batteries, including NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) and LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries, while adhering to the highest safety standards to ensure environmental sustainability, safety, and efficiency. The facility’s designed capacity not only meets current demand in Hong Kong but is also equipped to address the rapid growth of the future electric vehicle market, providing strong support for the city’s sustainable development.

Chun Yang International looks forward to the completion of this facility, which will bring new opportunities to Hong Kong’s environmental industry, drive innovation, and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and the city’s new industrial vision.
