Chun Yang International (HK) Company Limited (“Chun Yang International”) is pleased to announce that it has been granted a lithium battery import permit for Macao. This milestone marks the official opening of a circular route from Macao to Hong Kong for the Group’s “Hong Kong’s First EV Battery Processing Plant”.

In recent years, Macao has been actively promoting the development of a new energy transportation system, successively issuing policies such as the Macao Electric Vehicle Promotion Plan and the Subsidy Scheme for Replacing Petrol Motorcycles with New Electric Motorcycles. Therefore, the demand for treatment of power batteries for retirement and resource-oriented purposes is expected to grow continuously. As the key circular economy hub of the Chun Yang International, with this import permit, the “Hong Kong’s First EV Battery Processing Plant” will be well-positioned to address the downstream handling needs of retired power batteries from Macao, and further promote the synergistic development of the circular economy within the Greater Bay Area.

The “Hong Kong’s First EV Battery Processing Plant” is situated at the EcoPark in Tuen Mun and officially commenced operation in June 2026. The facility adopts smart production lines for green disposal of collected retired power batteries and extraction of black mass with metals such as lithium, nickel and cobalt, thereby unlocking the value of retired power batteries for recycling and secondary applications.
